Twitter Redesigns for Better Navigation

Twitter, the king of 140 character
microblogging has redesigned itself to make navigation both faster and more
efficient. New feature tabs on the top
of the page enables users to go to their home pages, find new content or
connect with other microbloggers more quickly.
User profiles have also
undergone a redesign as well. The fully featured site is planned for general
availability in the next few weeks. “As
other services tack feature after feature after feature on top of each other,
we’re going to go in an entirely different direction and offer simplicity in a
world of complexity,” Chief Executive Officer Dick Costolo stated. “This new
Twitter is really a foundation for us.”
The Twitter Timeline feature
improves performance 5X compared with performance just a few months ago. Timeline scrolls messages beginning with the
most recent at the top of the page. The once elusive revenue challenge is beginning
to turnaround for the company as it racks up $139.5 million for ads in 2011
according to EMarketer. It forecasts
$259.9 million in ad revenue in 2012, which represents an 86% growth rate. Twitter continues to improve its services to
attract more users and in turn pump up its ad revenue stream.
